Jess in hometown musical extravaganza

TEESSIDE Musical Theatre Company will be performing A Musical Extravaganza at Middlesbrough Theatre later this month.

The show, on Sunday, July 24, comes hot on the heels of the group’s latest production - La Cage Aux Folles, which stepped into the spotlight in April.

A number of group members who are currently studying at one of London’s top performing arts colleges will be returning to Teesside to take part in the concert.

Normanby starlet Jessica Robinson, who appeared on the BBC’s Over the Rainbow, is currently studying at Arts Educational Performing Arts College in London

Jessica, who came fifth in the show, will be starring in the show on July 24.

Others heading home for the production are Matthew Dale, Joe Winterschladen, Mark Reed and Matthew Corner who also attend Arts Educational Performing Arts College.

More Teesside Musical Theatre Company members will be heading to top performing arts schools in September.

Tom Mackay is going to Arts Educational, Rowan Sinclair Bird College of Dance and Theatre Performance in Kent, Emma Devlin the London School of Music and Harriet Perkins is going to Manchester Arden Theatre School.

Alison Dale is producing A Musical Extravaganza which will feature songs from Miss Saigon, The Sounds Of Music, West Side Story, Footloose, Spamalot, Gypsy and West Side Story.

Allan Iverson will also reprise his performance from the recent La Cage Aux Folles.

JESSICA Robinson will be treading the boards on Teesside this Christmas starring in Middlesbrough Theatre’s traditional panto - Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs.

The show, which runs from December 9-January 8, will see Jessica step out in the title role.

Also returning to Teesside is Bad Girls and Emmerdale star Claire King, pictured left. Having played wicked fairy Belladonna in Middlesbrough’s panto last year, she’s back with Jessica and starring as The Wicked Queen for the 2011/12 show.
