Which show to see?
Hi!
I'm going to see a show in the West End early next month with a friend and it's my choice of what we get to see, since it was his choice last time.
But there's so much choice ! Can anyone suggest anything for me? The last two we saw were 'Dreamboats and Petticoats' which I liked and 'We Will Rock You' which I thought was pretty meh. I was thinking 'Oliver' or 'Sweet Charity' - has anyone seen either of these and what are your thoughts?
Thanks! ! !
Ryan

I bet all shows in London are awesome though!
I've heard Billy Elliot is supposed to be the best show in London!

I've heard that, but I'm not sure if I'd like it. I didn't like the film very much.

Avenue Q is fantasticcc, highly recommended! It's a pity Spring Awakening has closed, or that would've been perfect, by FAR the best musical I've seen.
Also, I haven't seen it but Legally Blonde is getting fantastic reviews from everyone I know who's seen it, so could be an option, and same goes for Priscilla. The possibilities are endless

Re: Which show to see?
Ive seen Oliver 3 times, which is very good! But im not sure if i would see it again due to the cast change... as i only liked it so much because of the cast.
Hm... i'd say Billy Elliot! Again, i love the cast (Fox in particular, even though he's left now) its still my main show in London because of the production itself. Not only is the whole cast outstanding, but it is the funniest show i've ever seen, aswell as Avenue Q which made me cross my legs so i didnt wet myself haha! So... i'd say Billy Elliot or maybe even Avenue Q! Wicked is also very good too. So here's what i think...
If you want something quite serious, with love, magic and pure wickedness, then see Wicked, it's incredible!
If you want something a bit more dramatic but still some slight comedy, beautiful scenery (you wont believe it's just a set!), 50 children marching around the stage like pros, then Oliver all the way, you won't be dissapointed.
If something with more comedy takes your fancy then Avenue Q! It's completely bonkers, think the muppets on acid! It really is THAT awesome!
Now if you're still unsure then it has to be Billy Elliot! It has all the drama and magic you need, just like all the others, including bags of comedy! But here, you can see it all in one incredible show. Everytime i've seen it (including matinees and Foxs final night - SO LUCKY I KNOW!) there is always a standing ovation, and tonnes of screaming in the middle of the show. Now for Fox he gets a pure standing ovation in the MIDDLE of the show... this is after the breathtakingly amazing Electricity incase you're wondering... pure magic, see it NOW
I think it's obvious which Musical i recommend
Ive also seen Fame, Annie, Grease, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Hairspray but Billy Elliot beats all!

I'd love to see Wicked, but I'm saving my pocket for the Wizard of Oz!
Has anyone seen The Phantom 2 Love Never Dies? It doesn't look too good tbh... Why make a sequel to a classic? Like Cinderella!! x

I'd say Blood Brothers is the best musical I've ever seen!
I really really want to see Billy Elliot, I've heard it is the best musical in London, like you guys say
I saw Wicked 2 weeks ago and didn't think it was overly brilliant, but then Rachel Tucker is outstanding so she saves it ^_^ And so does the person playing Glinda. It was amazing but it's just not my kind of story

Re: Which show to see?
I didn't think it was thaaat good no. I think it's just because it's not really my kind of story with witches and magic etc. I only went to see it because Rachel Tucker is in it
Ah lucky!
I need to get a ticket for the Wizard of Oz!
